OPENING OF THE LABORATORY BUILDING

Opening ceremony of the laboratory building was held at the Central Asian Institute of Applied Earth Research (CAIIZ, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan) On Monday, September 3. In 2018, work was carried out to repair the building with funds allocated by the Ministry of Finance from the state budget.

The opening of the building was attended by State Secretary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations A. Mambetov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science N. Dzhusupbekova, President of the National Academy of Sciences M. Dzhumatayev, academicians A. Aidaraliev and A. Kutanov, Deputy Ambassador of Germany to Kyrgyzstan Mrs. Irzhe Berg and representatives of the German Center for Earth Research (GFZ, Potsdam) – the founders from the German side-administrative director Sh. Schwarze, Head of the International Department L. Stroink and co-director of the CAIIZ J. Lauteryung. Representatives of the construction company SIGN-Stroy handed a symbolic key to the director B. Moldabekov.

The opening of the laboratory building is the beginning of a new stage in the activities of CAIIZ, through the expansion of the research base, it is expected to expand the scientific tasks of the institute and strengthen the potential in the following areas: geodynamics and georisks, climate, water and glaciers, monitoring systems and data management.
